Mrs Dalloway is the account of one day in the life of a woman, Clarissa Dalloway, in England just after World War I. Barely anything seems to happen: Mrs Dalloway buys flowers and prepares for a party. In the meantime, her thoughts flow freely… Condensing a whole life into one day, that was Virginia Woolf’s ambition for her 1925 novel.
